Spalding United host Walsall Wood in the Northern Premier League
Manager Elliot Sandy feels his Spalding United side have put themselves into a great position ahead of a crucial run of festive fixtures.
The Tulips are currently in second spot in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division, four points behind league leaders Harborough with the two title rivals having played the same amount of games.
Spalding have taken 13 points from their last five games and have kept clean sheets in their last three league outings.
They were 3-0 away winners at AFC Rushden & Diamonds at the weekend which sets the Tulips up for their festive fixtures against Walsall Wood (home, Saturday), Hinckley (away, Boxing Day) and Cambridge City (home, New Year's Day).
The Spalding boss said: "I was delighted to keep the run going on Tuesday night.
"The team spirit is great and the fans are happy and we've got a big game on Saturday now to prepare for.
"We're in a good place. The recent wins in the league have also put us into a great position and things are looking positive."
Spalding have also been boosted by the return of marquee summer signing Dan Sweeney who is also back in contention for a place.
There is a derby duel on Saturday in the Premier Division North of the United Counties League with Deeping Rangers hosting Pinchbeck United in a match that kicks-off at 1pm.
The Clarets go into the contest looking to back up an excellent away win at Kimberley last Saturday after their bottom-of-the-table visitors.
Joint boss Scott Bogusz said: "It was important for us on Saturday to start the next run of fixtures with a win.
"It's given us belief and confidence. We can then see at the end of the month where we are - whether that's a great position or being still in and around where we want to be."
Division One leaders Bourne host Kirby Muxloe while Holbeach host AFC Sudbury Reserves in the Thurlow Nunn League.
The Tigers recently won the reverse fixture between the two sides but now need to bounce back after defeat at lowly Leiston Under 23s last Saturday.
Manager Danny Clifton said: "We're still in and around the play-off places but a lot of the sides near us aren't dropping many points.
"One of the good things about this group of players though is that they seem to recover really well.
"It has been a common pattern of dropping silly points but we have recouped them somewhere else."
Holbeach then face an 11am kick-off in their Boxing Day match at Swaffham while Deeping and Pinchbeck visit Wisbech and Sleaford respectively for 3pm starts. Bourne travel to Blackstones.
