Amore Italian Restaurant opens in Stamford

A couple hope to bring an authentic taste of Italy to Stamford with the opening of their new restaurant.

Alex and Monica Germani opened Amore Italian Restaurant in Cheyne Lane last night (Wednesday, May 19)

The husband and wife team already own a successful business in Melton Mowbray, but have always had an eye on the Stamford market.

Alex said: "Ever since we moved to the UK nine years ago, we've talked about opening in Stamford.

"We love the town. It's such a lovely place."

The majority of the Amore staff are Italian, and Alex aims to source as many authentic Italian ingredients as possible.

"We try to keep things simple and provide real Italian food," he said.

"Our staff offer a friendly service and good food."

Amore is open in the evenings between Tuesday and Saturday. It will also open for lunchtime bookings on Fridays and Saturdays.
