First-ever Cliffe Fest family fun day in Kings Cliffe was 'amazing'

The sun was shining on the inugural Kings Cliffe Family Fun Day on Saturday (September 21).

Cliffe Fest was held at KC Active on Station Road and was a hive of activity as hundreds of people packed in to enjoy the likes of a miniature railway, pony riding, a dog show, games and many more activities and entertainment.

Katie Wrynn, vice chairman of the King’s Cliffe Endowed Primary School parents and friends association, said: “It was amazing, absolutely amazing.

“The feedback we’ve got on Facebook has been amazing.

“It was our first event and we didn’t really known what to expect and how many people to cater for but we had about a 1,000 people come and visit us.

“We had a local councillor come to open the new playground in the village and the kids were playing on it all day.

“We had so many people from outside the village as well as the villagers that came along to support us.

“There were games for everyone with prizes for all ages, the dog show was a real hit and the tug of war was just hilarious.

“Everybody had so much fun.”

The idea for Cliffe Fest came from the desire to create a much bigger event for the village.

“It came off the back of the school summer fair which we did for two hours in the afternoon after school so we wanted to do something bigger and better,” added Katie.

“It was a joint effort between the Kings Cliffe Endowed Primary School parents and friends association and KC Active.”

She said they are already thinking about next year’s Cliffe Fest as it was such a success.

The proceeds from Cliffe Fest will be split between the parents and friends association and KC Active to raise money for amenities in the village for both children and older people.

Katie said she wanted to thank all of the following people for their help and contributions to the day:
