The Queen's Head in Bulwick near Rutland gets ready to reopen under Orton's Hospitality based in Leicester

A 17th century pub is set to make a return under new ownership.

The Queen's Head in Bulwick went on the market in August looking for a new landlord.

Orton's Hospitality in Leicester owns Orton's Brasserie in Leicester, The Carrington Arms in Ashby Folville and the Dewdrop Inn in Hathern and now owns The Queen's Head.

Guy Kersey, managing director of Orton's Hospitality and landlord of the Queen's Head, said: "People will either say we are crazy or genius for taking over a business during these times.

"It is important that we give the community the opportunity to socialise.

"The pub has a great reputation and is a beautiful building so it was a straightforward decision for us."

A new executive chef will be taking to the kitchen, Andrew Greasley, who was a finalist in Masterchef: The Professionals.

A new food menu will be introduced which will be 'traditional food with a contemporary twist', according to Guy.

The pub will open February 15 for drinks only, for the staff to have a chance to meet the community.

Food will follow shortly after in early March.

"We are really excited to open and meet the community," Guy said.

"I want to have an active role in the pub and will be behind the bar pulling pints and telling stories to people."
