Ryhall quiz features keen baker and village stalwart Betty Edwards

A baker has challenged people to guess how many scones she has made during a 30-year stint on a village hall committee.

Betty Edwards is delighted to appear in a fundraising quiz to support Ryhall Village Hall.

The venue should have celebrated its golden jubilee last year, but it was prevented by the pandemic.

To make up for it, the committee is hosting The Great Ryhall 50+1 Quiz which asks people to look back over village life.

Among the questions is "how many scones has the committee president Betty Edwards baked in 30 years?"

Secretary Anne Virgin said: “Betty has done so much fundraising over the decades that we thought a question connected to her legendary scone-making was essential.”

Quiz sheets cost £2 and are available from The Village Stores in Ryhall or by contacting Anne Virgin on 01780 754621.

The closing date is December 31. The winner will receive £15.
