New Deputy Lieutenant of Rutland is appointed
A new Deputy Lieutenant has been appointed to support the work carried out by the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland Dr Laurence Howard.
It’s been announced that Ed Burrows has accepted an invitation to take up the post and will receive his Certificate of Office later this year.
Dr Howard said: “I am delighted to appoint Edward as the county’s newest Deputy Lieutenant and very much look forward to working with him.
“I have no doubt that he will serve the county extremely well and make an invaluable contribution towards the work of the lieutenancy.”
Mr Burrows is a long-standing Rutland resident and managing director of the Barnsdale Lodge Hotel. He is also chairman of the Discover Rutland Tourism Committee and actively supports a number of local and national charities.
The Lord Lieutenant is the Queen’s personal representative in Rutland.
