Rutland Water Parkrun is back after pandemic




Rutland Water Parkrun resumes at 9am on Saturday, July 24.

The weekly 5km event for runners and walkers was put on hold during the pandemic.

The course begins at Normanton Church with a turn-around point on the reservoir dam.

Parking at the Normanton car park costs £1 per vehicle.Entry to the run is free.

Rutland Water Parkrun has taken place 218 times and a typical event attracts about 230 participants, plus volunteer marshals and timekeepers.

While the average finishing time is 29mins 40secs, local runner Aaron Scott holds the course record - a time of 15mins 10secs set in June 2019.

The women's course record was set by Anne Holyland in August 2016 and stands at 18mins 7secs.
