Photos of flooding near Oakham to Corby railway line where landslide blocked train

These photos issued on National Rail's Twitter account this morning show the landslip affecting the Oakham to Corby rail line.

It is part of the route from Oakham to London St Pancras line.

Last night around 400 passengers were left stuck on a train because of the landslip.

That train had come to rescue them from another train that had become stuck due to flooding on the line.

They were on the 14:34 London to Nottingham service yesterday, and their journey was delayed by about eight hours.

Passengers' journeys were also affected today (June 14).

The line is operated on by East Midlands Trains. It has said passengers could use their tickets to travel on Cross Country trains to Peterborough, and then board LNER services to London Kings Cross.
