Coronavirus: Co-op in Uppingham to change hours to help replenish stock as store reports asking people to leave after they were rude to staff




The Co-op store in Uppingham will be changing its opening hours from tomorrow (Tuesday, March 24) to help with the replenishing of stock.

The shop in High Street East will be open from 8.30am to 10pm.

In a statement put out by the Uppingham Emergency Community Plan Team, they said there had been incidents in the shop where people had been asked to leave.

The statement said: "Co-op management requests that we all stay calm when things are not available and not get frustrated with the store staff who are doing everything they can to help in these uncertain times. The store has had a couple of incidents in store where people had to be asked to leave due to unacceptable behaviour toward staff members.

"Can everyone please follow the social guidelines around keeping the distance when out shopping? Thank you."
