Show your support during Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance’s first ever Air Ambulance Week

The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) is taking part in their first ever Air Ambulance Week, just a few months after reaching their 7,000th mission milestone.

The local service has helped save thousands of lives in Leicestershire in just seven years, since its inception in 2008, and in June they completed their 7,000th mission - each of which is funded entirely by generous supporters.

The charity receives no Government funding, relying on their local communities to raise the £1,700 they need for each mission.

The charity has been holding its first ever Air Ambulance Week this week (September 21-27). Volunteers have been ‘painting the county yellow’ by handing out their colourful yellow pin badges in exchange for donations.

All money raised from the sale of their yellow badges will go towards saving more lives.

There will be badge sales in Oakham town centre tomorrow (Friday, September 25), from 10am to 4pm, and outside the Oakham DLRAA shop.

Alternatively you can give your support today by texting FLY2 to 70800 to donate £5. Texts cost £5 plus standard rate text message charge. The charity will receive 100 per cent of the donation. Please ensure you have the bill payer’s permission.
