GCSE results 2021: All pupils at Bourne Academy progress to sixth form or apprenticeship
All pupils at Bourne Academy will be able to move to the next stage after a successful GCSE results day.
Executive headteacher Lucy Conley said: “We are very pleased with the Year 11 GCSE and BTEC results for Bourne Academy.
"The success of our students marks the end of a challenging 16 months of disruption due to the covid pandemic and individual successes recognise the hard work of so many students. The outcomes for this cohort of students shows a significant improvement and enhancement from the grades achieved in 2019 and 2020.
"All students at Bourne Academy have been able to transfer to their next career stage, either to a sixth form, apprenticeship, college or work place. We are all extremely proud of our students this year. Well done to them all!”
Mrs Conley said there was lots of celebrations in school this morning.
The hard work certainly paid off for top performer, Freddie Brooks, who managed to gain himself a 9 in maths, an 8 in both English language and English literature, an 8 in biology, chemistry and physics and an 8 in French. On top of this, he also managed to gain a Distinction* for BTEC Business and Sport. Freddie will now be studying biology, maths and chemistry at A-level.
It was an impressive set of results for Matthew Hay as he opened his envelope this morning. He received an 8 in English language, English literature, biology and chemistry; a 7 in history and physics and a BTEC Distinction* in business and IT. This has now paved the way for him to study maths, biology and business in sixth form.
Jack Gillan was thrilled to receive his results as he successfully achieved an 8 in English language, English literature, biology and French; a 7 in maths, chemistry, physics and history, and a Distinction* in business. Jack will now go on to study maths, business and physics at A-level.
Ella Last, Charlotte Lilley and Victorija Kriauciunaite couldn’t stop smiling as they picked up an impressive 17 8 grades between them. It was a full set of Grade 8 for Victorija along with a Distinction* in business; Ella also received a 9 in maths, a 7 in both English language and literature, along with a Distinction* in business; Charlotte also received a 7 in English language and English literature; a 7 in psychology and sociology and a Distinction* in health and social. All are looking forward to studying in sixth form.
It was also an exciting morning for Lucy Wild who opened her envelope with trepidation. These worries soon dispersed as she gained herself a top grade 9 in both maths and psychology; an 8 in both French and history and an 8-7 combined science. Lucy also received a Distinction* in business.
There were further celebrations for Angelika Manzon and Lauren Bostock who both managed to gain themselves some impressive results. Angelika managed to achieve a 9 in French; an 8 in both maths and history; a 7 in English language and English literature and psychology with a Distinction* in business. The hard work certainly paid off for the pair who are now looking forward to their journey into sixth form.
Finlay Wilde was certainly not disappointed when he picked up his envelope. He was elated when he found out that he received a grade 8 in English literature, English language, maths and French; a 7 in biology, chemistry and physics; a Distinction in media and a Distinction* in performing arts.
