Spokesperson Veronica Hewins said: “Our 1940s evening was inspired by our residents’ love for lavish parties and we enjoyed reminiscing.

“Many of our residents at Castor Lodge are living with dementia, so it was wonderful to see them singing and dancing along to the music, remembering all the words.”

Care home manager Natalie White added: “It was a wonderful evening. We all enjoyed dressing up in traditional 1940s attire, with many of our guests joining in on the fun wearing hats, fascinators, suits, and polka-dot dresses.”

The home’s catering team put together a traditional buffet for the event.
