Storm Eunice: Weather warning remains in place until tonight as trees fall, attractions close and power cuts affect people in Stamford, Rutland and Bourne
A weather warning remains in place until 9pm tonight (Friday, February 19) as Storm Eunice blows through.
Gusts reached up to 120mph in some parts of the country as the storm rolled in, bringing with it chaos.
Thankfully, Stamford, Rutland, Bourne and the Deepings were let off relatively lightly in comparison.
As the evening draws in, police are continuing to advise against travel with Lincolnshire Police receiving reports of trees in roads, particularly around Stamford and Bourne.
Earlier, there were tailbacks of up to four miles on the A1 after reports of a tree blocking one lane.
Fire crews from Bourne were also called to Stamford Road, Lound after a van overturned in the wind.
Local attractions including Rutland Water, Burghley Park in Stamford, and Bourne Wood closed, amid safety concerns, and a tree fell down at the Wellhead in Bourne.
Stamford College also shut its doors to students and staff.
The bad weather also brought power cuts with it and trains were also cancelled.
