Supermarket opening hours across Stamford, Bourne, Rutland and the Deepings
Some supermarkets across the area have changed their opening hours in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Across Stamford, Rutland, Bourne and the Deepings, there have been huge queues at supermarkets and an increased demand for items such as toilet roll, handwash, milk and bread.
Yesterday, the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Secretary George Eustice has urged people not to buy more food than they need.
He said there was no shortage of food available but the challenge was keeping shelves fully stocked.
Mr Eustice revealed that competition laws had been relaxed and that the major supermarkets were working together to ensure people could access food.
Here are the new opening times for the bigger supermarkets in our area:
- Tesco stores in South Road, Bourne; South Street, Oakham; Godsey Lane, Market Deeping: 6am to 10pm, Monday to Saturday; 10am to 4pm, Sunday - NHS and elderly hours apply
- Tesco Express in High Street, Stamford; 7am to 10pm, everyday
- Bourne Esso Express in North Street, Bourne: 6am to 10pm, everyday
- Sainsbury's stores in Ryhall Road, Stamford; Exeter Street, Bourne: 8am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday; 10am to 4pm, Sunday - NHS and elderly hours apply
- Morrisons store in Ufifngton Road, Stamford; 8am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday; 10am to 4pm, Sunday - NHS and elderly hours apply
- M&S Simply Food, High Street, Stamford; 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday; 8am to 7.30pm, Saturday; 10am to 4pm, Sunday
- M&S Foodhall, Burghley Centre, Bourne; 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday; 10am to 4pm, Sunday
- M&S BP, Hackamore Way, Oakham; Open 24 hours
- Aldi, Hackamore Way, Oakham: 8am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, Sunday
- Lidl stores in Ryhall Road, Stamford; South Road, Bourne: 8am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday; 10am to 4pm, Sunday
- Co-op, Burley Road, Oakham: 7.30am to 9pm, Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 8pm, Saturday; 10am to 4pm, Sunday
There are special opening hours for elderly and vulnerable people and NHS workers at some stores.
