Stamford Rugby Club travel to face Finchley in the Papa Johns Community Cup
Stamford Rugby Club are aiming to take the next step towards a terrific trophy treble on Saturday.
The purple, black and whites have already been crowned Counties 1 Midlands East (South) champions this season after a cracking campaign.
They added the Notts, Lincs and Derbys Men's Senior Shield to their trophy collection at the weekend after a 38-22 victory over Southwell in the final at Ashfield.
Attention now turns this weekend to a last 16 tie in the Papa Johns Community Cup.
Stamford travel to London to face Finchley with a home match in the quarter-finals awaiting the winners against either Sutton Coldfield or West Park (St Helens).
Director of rugby Matt Albinson had his players back in training this week in preparation for their next test.
He said: "We were focussed in training on bringing further energy and intent in both attack and defence and the lads delivered.
"Do you dare to dream about winning the treble? The lads aren't doing that - it is just another game and opportunity for this wonderful group of players to go and express themselves.
"There are some tough selection decisions to be made and what a great place to be at this point in the season."
Player-coach George Cox and Cam Boyd, both on the bench to start Saturday's cup final, could well come into the back row given their impact on Saturday as they both brought huge physicality and a threat at the tackle area following their introductions.
In addition, Ali Shaw is likely to be back available following injury and will add further experience with a side of brute force and intellectual support lines.
The backline options are vast with George Offer, Ryan Morris, David Martin, James Wilson and Lewis Lancaster all available after missing last Saturday.
Finchley play in Counties 1 Herts/Middx London and South East Division where they finished third this season.
